(1) Clematis texensis ‘Princess Diana – I love the vibrant tulip-shaped cerise pink flowers & healthy dark green foliage (& it’s an American variety 🇺🇸🤩). I’ve only ever seen it once before, many summers ago, looking spectacular in an allotment at the wonderful #ludlowopengardens. It has an RHS Award of Garden Merit, as it’s such a reliable clematis.
(2) A young Clematis viticella ‘Etoille Violette’ looking pretty growing up a rusty obelisk in a west-facing flower bed. Its regal purple flowers continue for ages with regular dead-heading. This clematis also has an RHS Award of Garden of Merit & is beloved by many a gardener.
