Rosa ‘Constance Spry’ just coming into flower – growing as a climber up a tall trellis (to mask large rainwater storage tanks behind), it will look wonderful once fully established/trained…a ‘wall’ of luminous rose pink, heady myrrh-scented sprays of blooms in early summer. It only flowers once, but the display is worth it! 🌸
This bed has also been planted with white astilbe, perennial cornflowers, shrubby salvia, lady’s mantle & hollyhocks, a lovely mix for wildlife throughout the year.
Additionally, Lonicera japonica ‘Dart’s World’ has been planted at the opposite end, to thread its way across & mingle with ‘Constance Spry’, as it is semi-evergreen (in mild winters, it may remain completely evergreen), continuing the ‘masking’ effect of the planted trellis.
